Terms, refunds and cancelling your subscription

Plain English, no small print games. Cancel any time from your account, and every new subscriber gets a 14-day cancellation right.

Last updated 6 September 2026

1. What the service is

Dorset Trade Signals collects information already published on lawful public sources — council planning registers, public tender records and public building-control records — and turns it into a ranked list of building and roofing opportunities across Dorset and Hampshire.

We provide information, not work. We do not introduce you to a customer, guarantee that a project will go ahead, guarantee that an owner wants quotes, or promise any level of enquiries, contracts or revenue. Every decision to contact a property owner or business is yours, and you are responsible for making that contact lawfully.

Public registers are updated by councils on their own schedule and can contain errors, delays or withdrawn applications. We make reasonable efforts to reflect them accurately but cannot warrant that any single entry is complete, current or correct.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or over and acting for a business or trade to hold an account. Keep your sign-in details private; you are responsible for activity carried out under your account.

An account is for one business. Leads, packs, scans and outcomes are private to your account and must not be resold, republished, shared as a data product, or passed to a competing lead service.

We may suspend or close an account that is used for unlawful outreach, bulk unsolicited email, data harvesting, or any attempt to bypass the paid features.

3. Plans, prices and billing

Contractor is £39.99 per month and Pro is £89.99 per month, including VAT where applicable. Prices are shown before you pay.

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance by card through Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details. Your subscription renews automatically each month on the same date until you cancel.

If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it and we will email you. If it keeps failing, access to paid features stops until payment succeeds.

We may change prices for future billing periods. If we do, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand and you can cancel before the new price applies.

4. Your 14-day cancellation right

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumers have 14 days from the start of an online subscription to cancel it. We apply that same 14-day right to every new subscriber, whether you sign up as an individual or as a business, so nobody is worse off for using a trading name.

To use it, cancel in your account or email us at dorset-tradesignal@outlook.com within 14 days of your first payment and ask for a refund. We refund to the original payment method within 14 days of accepting the request.

Because the service starts immediately, if you have already used it during those 14 days we may deduct a proportionate amount for the days you had access. If you have not used it at all, you get a full refund.

The 14-day right applies to your first subscription. Later automatic renewals are not new contracts, so the statutory right does not restart — but our refund policy below still applies.

5. Refunds after the first 14 days

You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for. We do not automatically refund part-months.

We will refund a renewal in full if you contact us within 7 days of that renewal and have not used the service since it renewed — that covers the common case of forgetting a renewal date.

If the service is unavailable or materially broken for a prolonged period during a paid month, contact us and we will refund or credit a fair share of that month.

We cannot refund on the basis that a lead did not turn into work, that a property owner did not reply, or that a council register held fewer applications than you hoped. Those outcomes are outside our control and are not service faults.

6. How to cancel

Sign in, open Billing in your account and choose to cancel your plan. It takes effect at the end of the current paid month and you will get a confirmation email.

If you cannot get into your account, email dorset-tradesignal@outlook.com from the address on the account and we will cancel it for you. We treat the date your email arrives as the cancellation date.

Cancelling stops future billing. If you also want your data deleted, say so and we will remove your account data as described in the privacy notice.

7. Acceptable use and outreach

You must use the information lawfully. That means following UK GDPR, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and any council terms attached to a public register.

You must not send bulk unsolicited email, harvest private contact details, scrape our site, use automated tools against our service, or share paid content with people outside your account.

Outreach features on this site are approval-first: nothing is sent without you confirming it one at a time, and opt-out requests are always honoured.

8. Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in that period. We are not liable for lost profits, lost contracts, wasted travel or other indirect losses.

The service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and may be interrupted for maintenance or by problems at a third-party source, including a council portal being offline.

9. Changes and closing your account

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to active subscribers before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that date means you accept them.

We may withdraw the service by giving 30 days' notice and refunding any period you have paid for but not received.

10. Law, complaints and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

If something has gone wrong, email dorset-tradesignal@outlook.com with your account email and what happened. We aim to reply within two working days and to resolve complaints within 14 days.

Please contact us before raising a card dispute — almost everything is faster to fix directly.
